Just arrived today, Thamnophis pickeringi (Puget Sound garter) we named him "Sky" for the beautiful blue stripes.

After he has settled down from his journey, I will take photos.

He just ate!! I put a rosey red in his water bowl, not expecting anything to happen (at least not today) and within moments he had it gone.

After spending so much time in a box all the way from Washington state to New York it is encouraging that he settled right in so quick.

I bought a pair of puget sound a couple of years ago from a guy Bob. The female had a small clutch of about 7 babies. They are the coolest of all garters. They tend not to musk and Tolerate handeling. I was able to get themall on pinkies and fuzzies. Even the adults were easy. I froze some feeder gold fish. Then I used a piece of frozen talapia. I rubbed themall over the pinkies and it worked right away. With snakes that ate worms I tied the worm to a f/t pinkie and it worked fine. Snakes that do not eat mice should have some sort of vitman and calcium suplements as well as uvb lighting. Cheers Greg

Mine came from Bob also. I plan on getting a female real soon, since they are wild caught, she would most likely be gravid.
