HERALD SUN (Melbourne, Australia) 25 April 08 Woman killed trying to shoot snake
(AAP) A mother of four has died after being accidentally shot while she and her husband were trying to flush a snake out of a shed at Kingsthorpe in southeast Queensland.
Paramedics pronounced the woman, 33, dead on arrival at the property near Toowoomba.
Police believe a 37-year-old man accidentally fired his weapon when the snake slid over his feet about 10pm (AEST) yesterday.
His wife was shot in the back.
"It's certainly an unfortunate and sad occasion,'' paramedic Stephen Johns told Channel Nine.
Scientific investigations have been undertaken and a report will be prepared for the state coroner.
