I will be getting two corn snakes that are about a year old. I want to get two cages for them. I have three choices; I could build the cages (I have experience), buy some tanks, or buy some ready made cages. I just want your thoughts. I only have two snakes now, both baby corns. This group always says this I never thought of, so your wisdom would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
By the way, I live in Killeen, Texas.

I think any of the choices are fine, although if you go with tanks I would search out the few companies who make reptile tanks with front sliding doors. In my opinion this makes it much easier to care for the snakes than having to move the heating elements and lights away from the top each time you open the cage, assuming you're using them. Even if you're not I prefer front opening cages.

Main reasons for building are to save money and/or to get features you could not find in a commercial cage.

Currently keeping a small collection of various Gonyosoma. Both G. janseni and G. oxycephala.

If you build one, try to do a vertical cage, with many branches. Give them thick substrate at the bottom, but these guys really seem to love climbing. I've got my two in 20 gal long tanks that came with them, but I would've preferred something vertical for them.
