you know, I have a breeder friend who still swears that when he needs females, he incubates at higher temps and gets more females.

Crocodillians, and turtles(maybe certain lizards) have been known to be temperature dependant in sex ratio outcomes, but studies in snakes have been shown to be for all practical purposes genetically determined.
That said, it seems funny that your friend thinks he actually gets a higher percentage of females at higher incubating temps, than he would at a lower temps, as typically the higher temps with the other reptiles I mentioned produces a much higher ratio of males, and by the same token, lower temps producing more females.
I guess he figures going against the odds are better!..LOL!
Just do yourself a big favor Misty, DON'T let him pick your lottery numbers!..LOL!

lol. I have other reasons for Not letting him pick my lotto numbers, but thanks!
I am sure he said high temps was female. Either way, he is a firm believer that the temps help determine sex ratio.
