i have an egg laid today that has a very thin piece of newspaper attached to it. the piece of paper is about two inches long and an inch wide. should i try and peel it off? or leave it be?

I would leave it, it may fall off after it is in the incubator. It should not harm anything..

You can leave it. I had a clutch last year that had newspaper stuck to them and they all hatched out fine.
