voodoomagik Apr 30, 2008 09:46 PM

They're here!
Here's the beautiful litter that came to us this eve.
They're from an albino male and a DH suglow female. Here she is pushing around those wonderful babies.
I can't say how excited we are!
Updates to follow!

It looks like you have some really pink Sunglows in that cage. You know its a killer Sunglow litter when the albino's stick out like that one in front! Congrats!

Thank you so much, everybody!
It’s been really hard to be at work today, but it’s probably better because I can’t bother the babies by looking at them every two seconds!
I had 16 live healthy babies, one stillborn albino that died in late development and 2 slugs.
Lar, you’re right, bud! It seems like I hit the genetic jackpot. Of the 16, SIX are sunglows for sure! The seventh is either a really nice albino or a sunglow with the color of a sunglow, but a more normal pattern. I’ll post pics so you guys can help set me straight on that one if you don’t mind. I’ll definitely get some pics of the ‘glows, too. Some of them are INSANE!
I got four albinos including the one in question, 4 double het sunglows and only 2 normal looking hets. Since the dad was an albino, all the hets are 100%.
Their mom has ORANGE eyes and she’s just a DH, so you can imagine the sunglows. Thanks, Al, you’re right, she’s a keeper for sure. Plus, she’s totally tame. I was in there trying to keep her from covering the babies up with the newspaper and she didn’t bother me at all. I took her out with no gloves or hook and she was calm as can be. It’s almost like getting another snake because I really missed being able to handle her while she was breeding and gravid. Her body looks good, too. She’s not really a flat tire. She’ll still be getting the next season off, but I was happy that she didn’t feel like a bag of bones.
Good luck, Mike, and everybody else waiting for litters. I’ve got a few more to go hopefully so I’ll still be right there with you, but I feel like this was a good way to start the season.
Sorry about the long post. I’m just about to jump out of my skin!
I’m going to work on some individual pics soon.
Thanks again so much, everybody, for your kind words. I was really flattered to see the KS “handles” of so many people that I like and respect so much responding to my post.
