I can't get my beardie to eat

mytmouse Aug 30, 2003 03:19 PM

Hi all,
I am new to the board and also new to keeping a beardie. I have a problem, no matter what I offer my beardie, she will not touch her vegetables. She is still fairly young still, about a couple of months old. I try all kinds of veggies but its to no avail. I think that this is because the store I got her from never offered veggies. MY question is what can I do to get her to eat?

Thanks in advance,
Mytmouse

that seems to be a pretty common problem for young beardies. just keep offering veggies (make sure theyre the rigth ones, too) and eventually your baby will catch on. mine learned that greens are actualyl pretty good because she likes to bite when i try to pick her up, so i shoved greens in her face instead. she got pissy and bit into them, and discovered she actually liked em

how true for the first reply.... when they taste a nice bit of stuff they really love it...

from 1 to about 4 months of age it seems that many dragons are criket eating machines and then they start to go for greens...
some faster some slower....

remember they go from like 4" to like 16" in about 4-5 months and have to get a *LOT* of protein and calciumn during that time. and they hunt moving prey items..... veggies sit there unless you make them move.
