California shows/expos

This being my first year as a snake addict, I'm really excited to go to my first shows. Reading about what other people find at them just adds to that anticipation, but I have a few questions. I live in central California, so I'm right between L.A. and the Bay area. I can realistically go to shows in both places, plus Sacramento. So here are the questions:

1. I'm assuming Anaheim is not to be missed. What I'm wondering is if any of the superpower breeders attend this or other CA shows. Most of them seem to be in the mid-west or east coast. Do they come all the way out here? Any past Anaheim attendees care to share your observations?

2. Pomona appears to have had shows in the past, but the website only has 2007 dates listed and says check back soon for '08 dates. Does anyone know if these are still going and if so, are they worth going to? Have any '08 dates been released?

3. Sacramento and San Jose are put on by the same people, so I'd expect a similar turnout of exhibitors at both. How do these shows compare to say, Anaheim?

4. Are there any other shows in California that are worth going to?

Thanks for any help.

Eddie

I used to live in the SF Bay Area and I really didn't attend many shows there. I went to the IRBC (I think that is correct) show in San Mateo and it was really small and not really a lot to see. I went to a show in San Jose years ago and it wasn't much better. This last year I drove out from Phoenix to the Anaheim show and it was well worth it. There were many larger breeders there such as BHB and The Snake Keepers just to name a few. Never been to Pomona so I can't help you there.

If you find yourself with some extra cash, don't miss the Reptile Breeders Expo, it will blow your mind!

Where do you live on the central coast? The anaheim show is well worth it. I have a bigger boa breeder that has never been there that wants to come this year. But like the other guy said there are a lot of others who go the first year i went graziani reptiles was there nerd. Ars and freedom breeder have been there for your caging needs. Basically boas has been there the three times that i have gone. If you go i think you will find what you are looking for.

Anahiem is the largest one in California.. NARBC is always a blast, and brings out a general large group of breeders large and small.

There is also the new Reptile Super Show in June in San Diego. So far, that and NARBC are the only two "big" shows in California anymore.

IRBA seems to have given up...
