Here is a new piece of furniture I just finished. i thought you all might find the subject interesting. It is hand made from antique yellow pine and is finished in red oak and natural stain with multiple coats of poly. The head piece and arms are made from fiberglass and inlayed into the chair. The molds for the head piece and arms were molded from an old box turtle shell I found in the woods near my house. Let me know what you think!
Thanks,Matt

That is very, very beautiful, excellent craftmanship and very creative.
The turle shell casts on the arms seem a bit creepy only because I have a personal attachment to my own pets, but having said that, I have a turkey, sailfish, and numberous whitetail deer taxidermy mounts in my basement that seem very creepy looking to me sometimes when I think about it, yet they still pay respect to the wonderous beauty of nature, just as your piece of furniture does.
Very nice work!!!

Very creative and the chair looks beautiful but I would like it without the resin hand rests. Everything on it is so natural so the resin pieces look out of place. I would prefer a wooden craved shell decoration instead-but that is just my opinion and you asked It is very nice hand work. Tess
