feeding question

geckoejon May 01, 2008 09:13 PM

hello,
i'm new to this forum. i'm more into the pits myself, but i purchased a pair of whitesided axantic brooksi last year. great snakes! they are both '07 and aprox. 2.5 ft and thick as a quarter. i feed them every 3-4 days at 2-3 aproprite sized mice per feeding. they are growing nicely imo, and are well proportioned. the thing is that they always seem like they are starving! little bottomless pits. i'm just a hobbiest and would gladdly feed them as much as they want (it's not about the $), but i don't want to overfeed them either.
my question is, how often do you feed your juvenile brooksi? i've read several different things and i was wondering your experiences. also, what is the average size for them at just under a year?
thanks....
jonathan

Jonathon,

I keep my kings on a similar feeding schedule. I raised them to adults, and now they're fed about every five days. I've raised and reproduced several types of common kings this way. As a general rule-of-thumb they ALWAYS seem to be hungry.
