OT: A lot of Indigo pics (warning)

natsamjosh May 01, 2008 09:31 PM

Okay, I really overdid it with the pics today. Took the little guy outside again for some post-shed exercise.

Thanks for looking,
Ed

Still has some red on his chin and neck...

He really likes climbing trees..

Got a little too high up...

Belly shot...

Sometimes he will shoot right up to the camera lens and just stare into it, it cracks me up. Maybe his reflection catches his eye???

He also enjoys rooting around in the grass like he's looking for a burrow...

Thanks. I'm going to the reptile show in Raleigh tomorrow, so I actually might have some pictures of other snakes to post!!

Thanks,
Ed

I *was* going, but I have to babysit a newborn litter of pups so I can be gone for 12 hours. ::sulk::

Pups? Australian Shepherd pups? Got PICs? We all love dogs on this forum.

Close! Australian Cattle Dog pups. I was hoping my partner in dog breeding would be able to watch them for the day so I could go to the show, but something came up and there's no way she can. They were born early Th morning, I dont like to leave wee babies alone until they're at least a week old.

PICs? Sure! I'd love to show them off! I shot some pix last night, I'll download them and make a new thread tomorrow.

Those are some great pictures. I love how he stands out on that bright green grass.

Thanks Aubrey. I'm surprised my neighbors don't think I'm nutso.
Surprisingly, most have shown a genuine interest in him.

Thanks,
Ed

Hey Jeff,

Yeah, I think he's grown over a foot since I got him. So
so far, so good.

Thanks,
Ed

Ed-

Judging by the amount of pics - I am thinking you like this guy!

He is nice and I enjoy seeing the pics.

Mike,

When you only have one, he gets all the attention.

How do you like your spotted pythons? I was looking into
their close relatives - anthill pythons. Their small size as well as their hardiness appeals to me.

Thanks,
Ed

I love the pythons, and I got one as my first snake (first one in many years - since I was a child). I had wanted Anthil pythons, but did not want to spend so much - but now I have spent a lot more on some of my BRB's, and there is someone at the Wheaton, IL show with babies - but I am thinking of some other snakes first. Too many snakes on my want list right now....

They are great eaters (except for they will usually not eat while in shed), and very easy to take care of. They do not bite, but yet are active when you handle them (unlike Ball's). I will breed female 1 next year, so hopefully about a year from now I have eggs.

Mike,

Those are great looking pythons! Thanks for posting the pics and sharing the information. Yeah, the anthills are pretty expensive, but unfortunately my taste for more uncommon pets translates to higher priced animals. Maybe it doesn't even makes sense to get them, though, when you can get these nice spotteds for a more reasonable price.

Good luck with the breeding, hope you get a nice batch of eggs next year.

Thanks,
Ed
