5200 Gram Female carrying 17 egg clutch

Lavenderalbino May 01, 2008 10:27 PM

This looks like it will be a personal record for us at lavenderalbino.com. This 5200 gram female is carrying 17 large 100% Het Genetic Stripe eggs. The egg count was determined by ultrasound. She is just a few days from laying. She is a "Toad"!
She actually weighed 5400 grams this fall before going off feed.
I will follow-up with pics of her on the clutch once she drops them.

WHOA! That's 11.45 lbs of ball there! As rare as balls her size are, she might as well be a morph herself! 5400 gram, 17 egg-laying females are a lot more rare than lets say...150 gram pastel males are

WOW....She is a HOSS!!! How long have you had her and how big have her past clutches been?

You know we just purchased this female several months ago at the start of breeding season...the owner told us that he had sold her 7 or 8 years ago in his pet store as a hatchling, got her back some time later, and that she laid a "BIG CLUTCH" for him the year before last.

I was looking for big females that took last year off: When he said he would basically like to keep her, but every male he put her in with she "Whooped their a$$!" (in his exact words) I was laughing so hard I knew I had to get her!!!

We have have several 4000 gram range females, but they are generally disproportionally fat/thick and shaped more like blood pythons, and generally go not lay a whole lot more eggs than the normally shaped 2500 to 3000 grams females do....what is truly remarkable about this female is that she is normally proportioned, despite being 3 1733 gram females in one!! lol! Heck, I'd probably buy a normal male out of her just to be able to work with her true monster genetics!

I am jealous! I had a 4,000 gram girl lay 9 eggs while my 2,600 gram girl laid 10 eggs. That girl is going to have a lot eating to do before she gets back up to breeding size!
