Flexwatt/Thermometer question

mfoux May 02, 2008 02:17 AM

Does anyone use Flexwatt with an on/off thermostat instead of a proportional? I just got some Flexwatt and I have an on/off thermostat (Alife) and was wondering if it was safe to use. I've heard some opinions that it is not safe.
Any thoughts? Good experiences? Bad experiences?

I use Ranco's with my flexwatt and I have no problems...

That set up is exactly what I have going for my cages. I have 3 foot of 11 in flexwatt hooked up to one thermostat(for each of my cages)....I have this on 5 different cages. The only trouble i have ever had was it got to warm for the snakes when I had it on the floor of their cages so I moved it to the tops of my cages and all is good now!! When I had mine on the bottom I also had it in the cage on the floor so if you have it on the bottom of the cage it should work just fine! Hope this helps. I find it works good and Im not worried about anything happening with it safety wise. i have had it like this forever it seems and nothing has ever messed up!
