stuck foot shed

combs reptiles May 02, 2008 06:55 AM

Hello..
I have a pet gecko..and he has never had a problem shedding...however this last time it seems his one foot has shed stuck on and it wont come off. I have sprayed it with water in hopes it would work its way off but no dice.
So should i hold it and try to peel it off with tweezers?
Or...what is the best method to rid her of her stuck foot shed.

Thanks
Mike

Mine have this problem occaisonally. I fill a deli cup or tupperware container with about 1/2 inch of warm water and put the gecko in the tub. Have them sit there for about 2 minutes then while holding the gecko, put the foot against a finger and dip a cotton swab in the warm water and gently swipe the swab over the margin of the skin until it rolls or peels back. This should take care of it!
