I'm fairly new, and want to breed my female western hognose for the first time next year. I'm curious if anyone knows if brumation is equally important for males as it is for females. Or can we push young males a little longer into the fall, or even the entire winter, to increase their size? Are male hognose snakes like male humans, and pretty much ready to perform, while the female response is triggered more by climatic conditions? Thanks! Rick in CT
