Doesn't have much to do with herps, but with plants for in herp cages down the road, so I'm asking it here-

I have some Riccia fluitans that I've been growing aquatically in my betta tank for a while, and I really like it, but my ultimate desire is to have it growing terrestrially in tanks, and in some paludariums, both in and out of the water.

Right now, the only critter I have that needs the super high humidity/moisture that Riccia likes is a Pink-toed tarantula. Would it be OK to put a bright bulb over my pink-toe, as long as it's turned off at night, and the T has hide boxes, or would I be better off growing the Riccia in an empty tank somewhere?

thanks,
