jtclark Aug 30, 2003 05:16 PM

how soon should i expect for my new snake to eat. i purchased him today and i was told it is 2-3 weeks old and hasn't eaten yet. the pet store said it may be another couple of weeks? is this right? i knew i had you guys to ask so i didn't bother questioning the pet store. thanks for any advice you can give a brand new papa.

Try to feed him. YOu may already have a problem feeder on your hands. Ideally, you should always buy a snake that HAS been feeding, even a baby.
If he refuses frozen/thawed pinkies, try cutting the head off.
Sometimes when they flick at the bloody stump (yeah, gross) they just can't resist. Good luck. Once you get him feeding, you should be fine. Scan the cornsnake forum for other info, and pick up Kathy Love's book if you can find it. Duffy
