got an egyptian uro.

JeffK May 04, 2008 12:28 PM

he is only about 10inches long. my question is ....the people that had him before me didnt not have any uvb source for him. is there anything different i should do to up the uvb intake to try to get him to be okay. he is not showing any problems other than he is very skiddish and running away from me but i think its just being in a new cage. he is in a 5x2 foot cage snow but will be moving into a bigger one in the near future. right not all i have in the is a rock for basking and a large hide.

i also have a outdoor cage that i take my dragons out to to get some real UVB would that help if hes out there for about an hour a day or so? any help would be great.

I would not put it in that same cage the beardies use.

First of all, if he was receiving calcium and D3 in his diet, he should not be facing too many problems as of now. And assuming you are now giving him proper UV he should be fine. As long as he is not showing signs of any deficiencies of calcium or the like, no worries.

Any sun you can offer would be great for the little guy, just make sure to keep him separate from the dragons and make sure when he gets the sun he has a place to cool off.

The cage you have sounds great for him, he can likely use it until he is a bit bigger so I wouldn't rush around getting a larger cage just yet.

post some pictures if you can!
