Can you name these boa fanatics?

edkim May 05, 2008 12:00 AM

Well, we had another Norcal BBQ yesterday and the turnout was better than I could have hoped for. Unfortunately there were a couple people who couldn't make it last minute but we had a good turnout none-the-less. Among the people who couldn't make it last minute were Allyson Tokuda, Dave Lee, and Ken Burns.

The BBQ was fun and some of the guys(and girls) brought some of their '06 - '08 babies for sale/trade. There were a couple trades and sales, but most of the people are still waiting on their litters. Some types of snakes brought were motleys, jungles, salmon jungles, circlebacks, summit salmons, aneries, ghosts, harlequins, pastels, arabesques, and cyclones. Some were het albino or poss hets. We also played some poker. Shane Kinney learned a $20 dollar lesson in texas hold'em.

So back to the title. There are two group pictures (some people came at other times than others) so can you name these boa fanatics? I'll give the answer once everyone take a shot at it. You have to match the face to the name!
Hint: One of the guys is from Oregon, one from LA, and the rest are from Northern California. They are also ALL boa fanatics except for one fiance and one brother-in-law.

Here's the cake my girlfriend made for the BBQ. She made a circleback striped sunglow. Note the bedding, babies, and slugs. oh and some crap. haha.

Thanks for looking!

I even though I couldn't even give away my animals lol. There was no traffic from & back to Sacramento, that was a plus. To the winners of Texas Holdem where's my $20 for dealing? It was great to match names with faces.
What the heck was I doing with a cigarette in my hand ???????? The food was great, Tri tip, ribs, chicken, hot dogs & huge hambugers. I haven't forgotten but I will post pics of that black & white boa I was talking about once he digests his meal.
By the way why was Ruben so mellow lol???

Thanks to my little brother Eddie.

Uh oh, who's the tough guy? The older gentleman in the middle with the muscle shirt. Who is that?

He even has a tattoo! I wonder if he was pack'in heat... I had no idea he was such a big tough guy.

Once again, why didn't I get an invite? My little feelings are hurt... again...

You're right Jeff. He is looking pretty old, especially to be running around in that muscle shirt.

With your busy schedule and the airline tickets the way they are, i figured it would be a lost cause.

BUT, send me a couple stacks of cages and I might remember to add your email to the list =)
Really though, if you keep asking for the invite I'm going to expect you to make it to the next one! Maybe I'll get Derek to twist your arm a bit until you pickup some plane tickets.

I had a terrific time, it was wonderful to put some faces to names and finally get to meet some of these great gentlemen that I see here on the forums! What a super bunch of boa geeks we are. I wish I hadn't had to leave early, next time I'll leave the fiance at home so he doesn't get bored with all the boa talk. haha!

I was so tempted to get D. Yagi's striped het and one of D. Colling's anerys, if only I hadn't just dropped a big deposit on my new apartment. Drat. Dangit, I am still tempted! I got a couple photos but left the camera at home today. I hope we do it again soon. The best part for me was finally learning how to sex my young boas, yay! Big thanks to Eddie for hosting and everyone for making it such good times.

MAJOR THANKS TO EDDIE K. FOR PUTTING ON ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL EVENT! The food was even better then lastime and there was piles of it! It was great seeing everyone again and finally meeting the ones i've talked to but haven't met in peson. Hope we have just as good of a turn out at the next one!

That was an awesome day,

Great food (and too much of it) My thanks to Eddie and everyone who brought stuff!!!

Great conversation - DUH, put a bunch of reptile guys (and April) in one place and so much snake talk. And even better, no eye rolling as the topic shifts back to snakes over and over again.

Many came with boxes with gorgeuos animals in them. My box going home was lighter and heavier at the same time. One ghost went to Nick and two Cyclone Hypos came back. Good thing we swapped containers, looks like only one new one

I had to leave early to get to my bowling league and my box was a big hit. Most knew I was into snakes but had not seen them. Some had no idea and were totally surprised. Typical, all the kids wanted to see them over and over again, bring another kid so they could "show" them again. And a few adults that were afraid and ended up holding one (until it moved)

All in all a great day!!! Looking forward to the next one!!!!

Eddie, you're the man.
The BBQ was awesome! I just wish I didn't have to go so soon! It was killing me to leave :
What time did you guys wrap it up?? I was heading home from my cousins suprse B-day at about 10:30pm and was wondering if you guys were still partying...

I can't attempt to name all the faces in the pics you posted....because I can't see many images while I'm in Prison...i mean, my office....they block so much from us inmat....I mean from us employees.

Thanks again for being such a great host and for opening your home to all the SNAKESTERS!

nice wall paper! That is awesome

My boss actually asked me to put pics of my snakes in my cube....

I had some up for a while...but when developers and other business people would come to see me...they'd freak out...or ask a million questions....(usually the same ones...are they poisonous?!?! How many do you have?!? Have you ever been bit?!?)

There is this one lady that works on my team from PA. Whenever she's coming into town for work, she nicely asks me to put the snakes away, lol.

Whateva, Whateva...I DO WHAT I WANT! :P

Ok..going home...
