I used to use just sphagnum moss, or a mix with peat moss, but it sometimes dried out without me noticing and they always pushed it all to the corners and sides of the tub. This year I put a thick layer of newspaper in the bottom of the tub and soaked it(also added sphagnum). It seems to hold the moisture longer and is harder to push out of the way so the eggs don't end up on a dry plastic surface.
She ended up laying 13 good looking eggs
