My earliest was mid June. I was out 10 days this April and found none. I will be back this Friday for 10 days and plan on a couple this trip (we can dream).
Nothing much moving in the Davis Mnts. There has very little precipitation since the end of last summer, the complete opposite of the previous year. I was planning to hunt from Memorial Day to the end of the 1st week in June, but the lack of moisture and movement has me wondering. I would suggest closer to Del Rio where it hasn't been quite so dry... my earliest in Jeff Davis is June 9 - during rain.
Good luck.

A lot of years I hear of the first alterna being found in mid April. It's not the norm and wouldn't count on it, but I've seen it on more than one occasion. As for me, I've never found one so I can't give any info from personal experience.

Maybe not, but you found the best looking NM Milk that west Texas has ever produced IMHO.
I've found a couple in April, both adult males. Others found in April have also been males as far as I know.
