Need an indoor Tort.

FerretTime May 05, 2008 12:30 PM

Hi,

I recently started my collection of herps back up again (Green Tree Pythons) and my wife has decided she wants a reptile also, which I think is great.

She has decided on a Tortoises, mainly because of their diet, attitude and that they are adorable even when they are adult .

We need an indoor species though (I also suggested Box Turtles to her.) What would you suggest.

Thanks

I forgot to mention, we live in South Florida. We were already thinking Red Footed.

If you live in south florida, why keep them inside? The outdoor humidity is great for redfoots!

They don't need to be inside ALL the time. We actually decided on a Red Foot. I have about 17 years experience keeping mainly pythons but have never had a tortoise in my collection. Is their a book you would suggest I read?
