First hatched - mack snow?

Rflagg May 05, 2008 12:33 PM

This is the first egg I've hatched of any type of reptile. The mother was a mack snow and father a Super Hypo Tangerine Carot Tail Baldy.

Is this indeed a mack snow? Doesn't look like a normal or a shtctb, and the eyes look sort of greyish. It just hatched yesterday (or maybe a bit earlier) so I assume the faded look is due to an imminent shed.

Thanks, I thought it was but since I haven;t seen a newly hatched snow I wasn't sure. Found a pic on the VMSHerp site and it looks identical.

I just hope now that it's a male. I incubated at 88 degrees, and it only took about 40-41 days. I was NOT expecting a hatchling in there when I opened up the egg tub to let it get some fresh air.

I'll bet it will end up being male at 88 and hatching that fast. good luck
