Skinny girl

Hey all

I have a female beardie who had laid her first clutch of eggs last month - 21 good looking, fertile eggs. She is very pregnant again, and is probably going to lay any day now. Depite giving her as much food as she can eat (calcium dusted crickets, meal worms, horn worms, greens) She has only put on the weight of the eggs, and has no fat in her tail or hind legs. Since this is my first time breeding, I was wondering if this thinness is normal while shes preggers, or if she should have some fat stored?

Thanks for any adivce!

I wouldn't say thinness is normal. It really depends on the dragon. Some I can put additional weight on while they lay, others bulk up prior and then lose weight with each clutch. I would just give he constant access to live food and greens for now. Next year try to put some weight on her prior to the breeding season.
