White Plains vs. Hamburg Pa.?

skyfire_1 May 06, 2008 07:27 AM

Does anyone have any experience with both the White plains reptile shows, and the Hamburg Pa. Reptile shows. They are both the same distance from my house (Rochester NY = 300 miles), and I was wondering which one would be the bigger bang for the buck.

Concidering the gas prices I am only going to drive to one show this year. I have already been to a White plains show which I really liked, but was wondering if the Hamburg one would be worth going to instead this year).

Thanks to anyone who answers.

There are pros and cons to both shows. Obiously white plains is a safer show. Some of the same vendors do both shows. I personally like Hamburg more. I feel the people at the White Plains tend to jack up the prices more because of the people who attend the show, and the area these people live in. White plains is a upper middle class town. There tends to be more captive breed animals at White Plains, and more "high end or designer morphs". Two terms I hate when refering to reptiles. It depends what you like. I pesonally do not care for morphs. Also some of the greatest healthiest best breeding snakes I got were wild caught. The best advice is to attend each show and decide for your self. The best shows for Hamburg are April, June, Sept, and Oct. Also after the Hamburg show you can drive over to Cabellas and get a nice bison bratwurst.
