My Mexican Kingsnake is turning into a monster!

I'm pretty new with snakes so maybe someone can help me. My Mexican Kingsnake is 14 months old. I've raised him since he was two weeks old. He has always been very calm, didn't mind being handled, and had no problems eating. Lately, about he past week, he's become SUPER aggresive. He coils up when you walk in to the room, strikes at the glass if you get too close, shakes his tail like he's an Eastern Diamondback, and won't eat. Is this part of a normal cycle, or is it possible that there is something wrong with my little beauty?
