Strange Monitor (Bosc) Behavior...This ever happen to you??

My 15 in Sav is coming out of his shy stage but Im wondering about his recent behavior. In the past he would hiss tail whip etc... But now he blows himself up every now and then and only hisses, ok this is normal, but here's the catch . Then he calms down and runs to whatever I stick near the enclosure or in the enclusure and begins licking it frantically whether it's my hand, arm face up against the glass whatever. Is he trying to smell me to eat me or to simply recoqnize my sent...I am tempted to stick a fist in his enclosure ungloved and see if he does it and tries to eat it.. While I don't wanna get bit at all Im curious as all hell to find out what he's trying to figure out

My Sav us about the same size as yours...though he came out of his shy stage a while back... Mine does the same thing and I've figured out mostly that Kiros, my Sav, has equated me with his food...I'm the bringer of food.. so he moves to the glass whenever I come in the room...hoping for food...Kiros will actually try to climb the glass in his eagerness to be fed. What he's trying to figure out is whether or not you have food with you thats for him...
