the Northern BTS (Tiliqua scincoides intermedia) more...There are others that are great too. However, the Northern is as docile as they get, and it is much easier to find, and much more affordable than The Blotched BTS (Tiliqua nigrolutea), the Western BTS (Tiliqua occipitilas), the Centrallian BTS (Tiliqua multifaciata), or even the Eastern BTS (Tiliqua scincoides scincoides). Because this species is exclusive to Australia, only Captive Bred specimens are available to US hobbyists. This is a good thing, as US buyers are guaranteed a healthy pet that will not need to learn how to adjust to captivity. This is also something that cannot be said for the Irian Jaya (Tiliqua ssp.), Tanimbar (Tiliqua scincoides chimaerea), or any of the Indonesian BTS subspecies (Tiliqua gigas ssp.) The Northern is the BTS for the first time skink shopper.

I love my Bothchies!
Ohh Also - $40 Eastern BTS with Beautiful Orange markings! NIIICE! She will be mine shortly! That'll make it 4BTS for me - (3x blotched 1x Eastern)

Blotches are awesome for sure. I was speaking in reference to the situation here in the US. I do realize that Blotchies, as well as Easterns, are somewhat common in the Australian pet trade. I envy you!

Yes, I, too, am jealous.
How about posting some pics of the Eastern when you can, please?
