Although longnose are quite common throughout much of their range, here in NC Texas they are not. I usually only find one or two a year. Our local animals do tend to have much more vivid coloration than most localities.

Are they primarily lizard eaters in TX? I found one of our CA ssp out in Kern this year and thought about keeping it, but they can be notoriously difficult to switch over to rodents.
