Never tried them but they are not safe to use... the type of coating used in these bulbs are different than what is used in the straight tubes, which harms the eyes of the dragons..This question has been brought up a few times...best not to use the compact bulbs at all.

Are these lights safe for any lizards? It's kind of funny how there is no warning labels or no mention of this on the package, label, or anything for that matter. You would think with a company like zoo med they woould do a little research and no put bearded dragons all over the package. thanks for the heads up. I seen a couple posts about the lighting subject of power compacts and I was thinking of fish tank lights so I figured I would ask about this product in particular.

I think the same problem with the compacts affect all lizards, not just bearded dragons. Here is the link which talks about the compact lights
