When you are dealing with newer morphs PLUS the fact that there are three difference genetic traits/mutations that are factored in....I think there is either a 1/16 or 1/64 chance(basically a very small chance) of actually producing a corn with all 3 traits.

Would you ever pay $1000 for a corn snake that is "new"? hehe

no, i can't afford anything right now that expensive. Even if I did have the money, I would never pay any more than 300-400 for any one snake. But thats just me. Some snakes like piebald ball pythons are like $10,000 but prices have dropped for hets. I am young and have many decades to look forward to where more new morphs will be offered and prices will maybe drop...if not, i can always buy hets for less and breed the animals to produce the desired morph.....as for corns, i have not yet gotten into the striped and motley phases too much...don't really know why...just not that interested in them now...but things always change..lol

Rich sold a pair or two of Lavender Motleys last year for $2,000 a pair.

He put a price tag of $20,000 on a hypo Lavender Bloodred this year. I think that's one that he doesn't really want to sell!

that's crazy...most I would pay would be $150 for an adult, nothing more really =)

I think $20,000 would be a bit of a stretch.

But if you look at $1,000 per snake that could produce 20 or so offspring at a reduced price of say....$500 ea. or let's say even $200 ea. In the first year you sell 20 babies for $500 the return would be $10,000. Or at $200 ea. (which is most likely to happen by the time your pair produce) you would get $4,000.
These are some of the chances that people paying that high price take. Can you imagine paying that much then finding out one of the pair is a dud? It's a risky proposition, especially since corns reproduce so easily. Once someone like Rich sets a standard like Motley Lavenders then everybody and thier dog kicks in with a similar project.

$1,000 for a Pet corn......nah!

$1,000 for the possibility of a high return......Hmmmmm, maybe!

Now I feel even more rotten over my triple hets not eating! Oh well, if I can beef up my Hypo Blood enough, maybe I'll have double het hypos next year.
