That boy is awesome! How big do these carpets get? I've always read they were the smallest and average around 4-5'. How big should females be to breed? Again, very nice animal.

Brandon, they can breed at VERY small sizes. I personally have gotten perfect clutches from males as small as 500 grams and 10 egg clutches from females weighing 1000 grams. But generally they are larger when they first breed. They are the smallest of the Carpets on the market but like any species, there are occasional exceptions. I'd say they average 5-6 feet but I personally owned an 8 footer andf I knew another guy with an 8.5 footer. But they were both quite old so age obviously plays the typical role.
