I get mine at a feed store, they sell all kinds of chicken feed, straw, hay etc. I pay $8 for a paper wrapped bundle that when expanded fills a garbage can plus.
It is shaved aspen, unlike the reptile specific kind which is splintered, but I have never had a problem after keeping 30 snakes on it for over 2 years.
