Funny that you ask. I use to bring in African cichlids when I had my shop. They are a family of fish...about 2-3 thousand types of cichlids and not just from Africa.

I dont see how you guys have patience for things that live in water. I cry enough about the 60 lizards i clean every other morning. It helps me appreciate how easy the boas are(atleast to keep, breeding is another story for me)

The cool thing about cichlids, is that you can have anywhere from 8-10 spawns a year/female if one does it correctly.

Fish are about as easy to keep as snakes, you only have to rinse out/clean the filters every few weeks depending on what you use. My ex and I kept 5 tanks of cichlids, the largest being a 240 gallon and used Fluval filters. The most expensive/time consuming part was getting the tank and setting it up IMO. I miss my cichlids!

Yeah, I agree.....also, I have a secret to "pop" a new tank in less than 24 hrs.
