What do you think?

Wallbanger26 May 07, 2008 01:18 PM

I'm not big on people who ask if you think there normal is a morph. At the same time, I'm not very good at noticing markers and what not either. I found this little one at my buddies shop. I was looking at the pics of Russo het lucy before I went there. I think I just wanted to convince myself I found something. It does have the high white lats and the yellow top of the eye. Not to mention she has a head spot similar to the one on VPI's website. Anyway, just wanted an opinion from someone who has them. It's probably just a normal, but I traded 2 male normal hatchlings for her, so it wasn't like she cost me anything.

Thanks for looking!

it is not a het ivory at all.. they have flames along the sides, not white linings...many normal ball pythons have that white lining.. The flames are light areas within the black/dark background between the saddles which reach down to the belly. There are several other yellow belly markers that need to be present...but I don't know them all off the top of my head.

The Hunters Guide to Ball Python Morphs, has a great guide on detecting the subtle morphs...

I think he was talking Russo het BEL, not ivories. It does have some of the traits that Russo's may have, but I'm guessing its normal, good dinking project though.

to me she kind of looks like a jungle, but i can never tell what the heck a jungle really is with all the people calling really normal looking balls jungles.... I'm betting normal, but sure is a pretty one!

I thought just for a second it might be a Russo het Lucy. Never thought it was a yellowbelly. Thanks for the description though. It helps.
