Pre lay shed question

stylindawg2006 May 07, 2008 01:43 PM

One of my normal females I figured was due to lay any day now. I didn't see the ovulation in her but you can feel the eggs in her. She shed on April 13th and I figured that was her pre lay shed. However, I went in this morning and it looks like she is getting ready to go into shed again. Is that possible to shed twice before laying her eggs?

Anything is possible. Snakes dont always follow the exact timeline that we as breeders look for.

I've only been breeding a few years but I did have a gravid female shed 3 weeks apart last year. The first shed was growth? the 2nd was her POS & she laid a nice healthy clutch 32 days after her 2nd shed. Hope this helps- Deb
