Buying gravid W/C

Dave15run May 07, 2008 04:38 PM

A company all of you know is offering two gravid females. One is a Miami phase corn and the other corn is from South Carolina but not an Okeetee. The price is reasonable ($150.00) but I want to know if I should prefer one over the other.
The Miami phase is 2.5 feet and the other is about 3.5 feet. Both are wild caught. I have very little experience with hatching eggs but just can't wait to try. I have a Hovabator and will read all the posts I get for information. I also have the books by Kathy Love and Don Soderberg for information.

Let me know what you think and thanks for the help.

Dave

Get them as soon as possible. It isn't a good idea to ship snakes too late in gestation as that can cause stress which can sometimes lead to egg binding. As long as they are a few weeks out, it should be no problem.
I would get the bigger animal. Bigger = more eggs.
