And in comparison, this little girl is from Ed's big boy Grover and female Oscar. She is just around 7 months old and eats everything!

So there is hope? LOL! I have a little mali about half that size that I suspect is WC because every time I put my hand in the tank, he does a belly dance and tries to tail whip me! LOL! I need to capture it on video.
Great looking babies!
Thanks!
I know how aggressive the WC can be. Some, but not all turn around. At the very least, I know he will tolerate me cleaning his cage. At first he would bull dog my hand while I took out his poo and old greens.

that makes me feel good. my new egyptian is showing a lot of aggression and is doing what you guys call a belly dance and i thought it was something else wrong with him. what can i do to tame him. i was told that if i hold him for about 1 hr a day for three weeks he will open up. i just put him in his new set up 2 days ago and he hasnt moved at all he stays in the same spot day and night. he is worring me a little bit. i want him to be nice because i know that when he reaches full size he will kill me with that tail whip and i dont want a 3 foot beast monster attacking me every night.

LOL! I hear ya, buddy! But I don't know if force holding for quite that long is good. I am trying to slowly earn Ngozi's trust. He doesn't belly dance any more when I just grab bowls or clean, well, if I don't clean to close to him. But I can slowly move my hand closer than I could before. He is slowly warming up, and I only hold him now and then for a short time.
Truth is, he is such a little pistol, I think it will have to be on his terms or nothing. When I hold him, he gives me an absolutely unmistakeable look of pure hatred! LOL! But he comes out when I am in the room, and interacts from afar. On the other hand, my mature mali, Taz, is an absolute doll and eats from my hand and climbs aboard for adventures. I think it just takes time, like with birds. Both are prey in the wild, and little uros are even more so.
what about him not moving around. he goes straight to the cool side of his tank. temps are normal and everything he just doesnt move. when i walk in the room i hear him hissing and he does his belly dance.

Its not a coil or compact, is it? Is it a Reptisun or Reptiglo? The reason that I ask is that a lot of reptiles are developing health problems from some of the UVB bulbs on the market.
no i wont use the compact it is the tube light. what about the murcury vapor blubs? do the work i have heard good and bad. i just want to see him eating and basking.

Oh, the difference is dramatic, IMO. I won't use anything but the MVBs, and I have very healthy, active lizards. I did use a tube at one point, but the rehab dragon that I had under it was only making minor progress. After I put the megaray over her, her color brightened immediately and she started making noticeable progress. The guy who created them did so for rehab purposes, and they have been tested around the world. He has one bulb that still tests in the adequate range, which would be fine for a healthy animal, and it is three years old! I don't recommend keeping one that long unless you have a UVB meter, but you can trust them for 18 months or better.
The MVBs are very bright whereas the florescents aren't and need to be used with additional light for high UVB reptiles, and I have read that they allow the animal to see better. They also produce heat, so you get the basking and UVB all in the same place, which is much more natural.
Gosh, sorry!
I sound like a MVB groupy! LOL! Well, I am.
would a 100 watt MVB be okay for him? where is the best place to get one? ive seen the in stores and they are $75.how far away should he be from the MVB?

The wattage depends on your enclosure. He needs to be 12 inches away from a 100 watt Self Ballast, and 14 away from a 160SB. I do not pay those pet store prices for anything. I get mine here for right at $50 shipped:

If you have questions about your setup, this guy can answer them. Let me know if you get one and it makes a difference with your little one, would ya?
ill keep u updated
