one more note. there seem to be many different varieties of each tree boa and tree python I am looking for which ever is considered the most asteticly pleasing through out the many phases they go through aswell one that will end up green as an adult.

One thing to consider with arboreal snakes is they tend to bite faces.

We just had a great discussion on that exact issue, scroll down the page a bit and you will find it.

I have always been fascinated by arboreal snakes, Then I found one that is really cool, handsome, green and harmless.

"Limon" requires a lot of care, but hand feeding him every morning while sipping coffee is awesome.

Pythons and Boas are all very cool snakes, but from what several experienced keepers have had to say about the tree snake variety has swayed my thinking a bit.

Another option would be to google search each and read everything you can find. Then trust about 25 percent of it!

Good luck,
Wayne A. Harvey

Well there is no such thing as an Amazon Tree Python. No pythons in the Amazon

So you are probably talking about Amazon Tree Boas and Emerald Tree Boas. Care for them is very similar but Emeralds are less tolerant of errors. Amazons are pretty bullet proof as long as their needs are met.

Also another thing is Amazons do not sit on a straight branch like Emeralds and Green Tree Pythons do. The like to rest their body on many points so if you just have a straight branch they will more often just sit on the floor.

Have you considered a Jungle Carpet Python? Mine is wonderful and is always active and climbing in her branches. Very docile and calm, a joy to handle and interact with.
