Ecapee...

Hey guys, my leo got out of her cage last night and I haven't been able to find her. Is there anything I could do to sort of lure her out? I already put the cage on the floor with upside-down cardboard cup holders holding it up so she can crawl into them.
She got one once before but I thought I had fixed the problem. That time I found her in my closet within 2 minutes though.

Possibly a heat lamp. surely she will be looking for a warm place.

My gecko somehow mysteriously escaped once, I still don't know how. But she turned up, hanging out in the middle of the hallway... 5 months later. Heat lamp sounds like a good idea.

Hey,

Don't give up hope. I had two carpet pythons get out once. Their cage was opened and left opened by a punk kid that broke into my house. One I found right away. The other I had given up for lost. I was so depressed about it. Then, over six months later, I found him in my basement! He was cold but he was alright. I had given up all hope of finding him and wasn't even looking anymore. Don't give up.

I agree...a heat lamp and a nice moist hid box might lure him in.

But do try to make your enclosures more escape proof.

Good luck,

Hayseed

I've had 2 escapees.... each time a cat broke in and got my leos... so each time i put out a humid hide in the middle of the room.... and within a few hours both were found

Wow you guys, I was just setting up everything suggested - moist place for him, a little hideout, checked behind our mini fridge...and then I decided to finally clean up my room mate's messy side of the room just in case, and there she was! Poor thing was dehydrated though, but I'm glad I found her. I was afraid he somehow got outside.
Thanks for your help everyone, I appreciate it a lot!
