you know Cole, it's just poor forum form to post your answer to an I.D. game as your title. Kinda spoils the fun.

my guess....sinaloan x nelsoni?.......unless Sharron says sina......then it's a sinaloae......LOL.......I forget what real sinaloae noses look like.......I thought they were blacker than this one.....

That looks like it could be Nelsoni to me.. with interbreeding i guess it's tough to tell though.. Either way Shannon will confirm the ID for you...

It would be a stretch I think to say its nelsoni.I really don't see it but I can't see the whole body and the underside of the chin.
Anyway, I would say its your everyday "hobby" siniloan.

I thought the black looked a little thick, but i don't disagree on the sinaloan ID...

I had a good day here today.. 6 or 7 new hook ups including my first Rosy Boa breeding ever!

Hope all is well with you guys!..

Yes, i keep them in the same racks as my alterna.. i just keep very small 1/2 full water bowls in with them to keep the humidity down..

I really don't have that much experience with rosy's. but i have had this group for about a year and they seem to be doing well and they eat like crazy, so i guess i am doing ok?

I never did well with them in racks.just make sure they have lots of vent holes and like you said keep the water to a min.

It would have been a little better to have posted a full-body shot so the RBR(red body rings) can be shown for an accurate count, since that is a crucial meristical difference in the two. But from what I can see, it has a larger percentage of sinaloae in it, as opposed to nelsoni. Also, Sinaloan's can have a heavily mottled white snout as well. Does the first black ring have a break in it underneath the throat?, if it's complete, that's another trait more often seen in Sinaloae, rather than nelsoni.

I say this because of the thickness(or lack of thickness) of the black rings, and the angle that they taper, which looks to be very mild. This certainly isn't to say it doesn't, or can't have any nelsoni influence in it's genetic background, because MOST of the Sinaloans in the hobby today have influence from nelsoni to some degree, and vise versa, this is a fact. Extremely good examples of either one in the hobby are few and far between.

Anyway, from just what I can see in the photo, for all practical "hobby" purposes, ..it's a Sinaloan.

Below are two examples of good looking nelsoni, that CANNOT be mistaken for Sinaloan's.

best regards, ~Doug

Damn, I like those snakes, Doug! Feel free to post those things whenever the mood strikes.

Thanks Cole!,....I'm glad you like those as well. I DO wish I still had them though, ESPECIALLY the male in the top photo. They don't really come much nicer than that one.

Everytime I post that male, I seem to get somewhat "bummed" because I no longer have him!..LOL!......what a classic!

take care!, ~Doug
