Black Ratsnake stop eating...

Joeycoco98 May 08, 2008 09:47 PM

I am not new to snakes but I am new to Black rats. My question is do the males go off feed like kingsnakes do during breeding season. I am sure the answer is yes but still would like to confirm. Mine has not eaten in over a month. He seems healthy otherwise.

Thanks,
Miller

Some do, some don't. Most of mine don't, but a couple do. Don't worry about it, though! Your guy should be fine. Just keep an eye on him, to see that he's not losing any weight.

I agree with "Redmoon", and I'm sure the only problem is a touch of the love sick blues here..LOL!

He'll be fine until he gets back to normal, maybe a few more weeks or so from now.
