Found this female and male on a trail and the male was rubbing the female to breed. She is already gravid and kept moving away from him. Turned around and there was another male headed their way. Pretty neat to find 3 eastern hogs out like that.

just curious,
what state are you in and what were the temps?
how do you know the female was gravid?
often the females have mid body swelling from maturing oocytes in the ovaries after hibernation and prior to ovulation and fertilization. maybe she was giving off pheremones of maturing oocytes ?
