Time for my ritualistic picture posting--New River Tinc

Homer1 Aug 30, 2003 10:34 PM

Hey, everyone! It's been quite some time since I've seriously posted anything here. I've been VERY busy studying for qualification tests and starting a new job. I'm sure my posting and viewing frequency will remain spotty, but I wanted to share a few pics that I have recently taken. I think I've finally found the trick to taking pics with my cheap little digital camera . . . just before I go out and buy a nice one. :?

Anyway, these are some pics of a New River Tinc at 8 months--look pretty full grown to me (nearly as big as the Surinam Cobalts I saw at the Shedd Aquarium). The color is hard to pick up properly on camera . . . the electric blue reticulation always washes out to a white in the lens. Oh well. Let me know what you think.

The last pic of the series. Has anyone else noticed that their tincs could eat them out of house and home? Talk about putting away the grub! I wish we had an army of these in Indiana . . . they'd eliminate chiggers and mosquitoes in a hurry.

I didnt know the Shedd had PDFs. Never been there but i sell tickets all the time for the Shedd Aquarium at my crappy job TicketMaster.

I too was going to get my new rivers from quality captives. but their newrivers have become ill I can still get frogs from other places but i do hope they get better. They helped me all this time and was holding them so they were a bit older then normal when i got them.

Nice frogs!

Really nice Homer. Off the subject of frogs but, I hope everything goes well with the exams and the new job. Good luck!

Thanks, Tony. Things have been busy around here, but somewhat enjoyable. I'm happy to have that 2 day exam behind me, now I'm just waiting to make sure that I passed.

The frogs are always a nice distraction, and I enjoy gorging them and watching them eat like the little pigs that they are.
