Nicaraguan litter WHOOOHOOO!!!

Amiemac9 May 09, 2008 02:27 PM

Well, they are fianlly here. Delivered at 1 pm this afternoon. No slugs, no premies, none with yolk attached. All full term and looking good. This is my first litter ever so I am sooooooooo excited!!!! I count at least 11 heads plus one still in the sack (breathing but in the sack). It looks like there are some nice hypos and quite a few have striped tails (mom and dad both had striped tails). They are all 50% het for T albino.

Here's mom and the kids...

And a quick shot of just the kids. I'll take more after a few days when they get cleaned up.

you had a couple stripe-tails in that litter too! Very nice, I saw the center one first, then the one in the lower right corner... it may be genetic! Well, maybe it is and you already know, but I saw the two right off the bat and wondered how many stripes you ended up with... da#n cool!

I just can't stop looking at them! It appears that most of them have striped tails. I have so far only seen one that is not striped. One has a huge stripe (that one is definately a keeper). I don't know if the striping is genetic but since most of them have it, I would say probably. I won't know until I do other breeding with these kids and the parents.

Momma is doing well, she ate for me a little while ago and most of the babies are already wandering the cage. There is one that I am keeping my eye on..the one that stayed in the birth sack longer than any of the others.

Amie
