Feeding during breeding?

jamesalternafan May 09, 2008 04:07 PM

I fed my females heavy post brumation. While they were gravid they ate fuzzies as many as they wanted. But they seem to stop eating as much as the eggs are developing. Now maybe a week or two before their eggs are going to be layed they are not interested at all. Is this normal? Should I just start to feed them as soon as they lay?

normal for some but not for others. There really is no "across the board" with alterna or any snake for that matter.
Most my females stop or really slow down close to laying but I have a couple that would take food of the forceps while laying.I actually had one do it last year.
