Aransas county, Texas today at work

antelope May 09, 2008 08:16 PM

Here's a gulf coast ribbon that was hunting for tree frogs and toads at a house we were working at today. There was a Texas rat prowlin the porch at 2:30 and this guy came out to the same spot an hour later. I think it was in the mid 90's today. The T-rat was about a 3 year old male and I couldn't tell about the ribbon but it wasn't gravid. I should have gotten a pic of the T rat as it was the only one I have ever picked up and didn't get musked or gnawed on. He was super mellow and more yellow than red. I have been cruisin' down south for annulatta and haven't seen any yet, but some others ran into some other things that I got pics of. I will post the gory details on a future post. I warn you now, most are dor's but they show me where the snakes are. So here's a live and happy? oh so common ribbon snake.

Good luck finding milks. If you find a female off the road/row let me know, I might be interested.

Todd,
Do you live here in Aransas? I've been here about a year and everybody seems to just want to kill EVERY snake they come across. Don
