Crusty snout?

jrm_tomburg Aug 30, 2003 10:55 PM

Our young adult beardie has had a hard, crusty (dark) patch on the front tip of his lower jaw for several weeks now, but we haven't noticed any nose rubbing at all. It looks almost like grains of sand stuck to the skin, but it's hard and won't rub off. His appetite and general health seem fine otherwise. Top front tip of mouth seems fine. Any ideas as to what this is?

Jonathan

The description makes it really hard to know... there are some minor bacteria and fungus that are dark that sometimes appear around a dragons mouth....... rubbing is usually the cause of dark spots as they heal that way. Stomachtitis (mouth rot) also can have dark sores on the mouth
