One Eyed Boa Care?

whippetluv May 10, 2008 10:59 PM

So someone was adopting out a pair of supersalmon boas with only one eye and I have adopted one. Has anyone else owned a one eyed snake? They are eating great, but anyone have any tips for me. I mean I realise that I should not grab it on the blind side, and f/t only of course...but any other thoughts?

I had a good sized male with 1 eye. The only thing I had to do differently with him was no ifs ands or buts, I had to hook him out (he tended to lay along the back of the enclosure with the missing eye pointing out) and anything entering his enclosure was tagged hard and heavy. Other then that everything was just like he had never had the injury.

I have an albino w/ no eyes and he lives his life like any other snake. I dont take any extra precautions, actually he's the snake I would trust the most and take him to my school presentations..... Jon

Oh no! God I would never! This will be a Pet only! I tend to think we over breed and inbreed as it is, I would never breed one with a major fault like that.
