Are there all white kingsnakes?

merlin7676 May 11, 2008 11:41 AM

I was just wondering if there are all white kingsnakes? Albinos and snows tend to be pinkish...I mean more of actual white that you'd find on a reversed striped california for example. I can't find any info that there is and I was just curious.

There are a few of what's known as "Blizzard" Kings out there that are basically pure white as adults, they start out typically very pink as hatchlings. but other than those, there are no solid white Kings.

There are some extremely "high white" Cal. King, which there are some good examples of that have for the most part, an all white body, except for maybe some of the head/neck region which still remains black.

The ghost whitesides should start showing up, those adults are going to be pretty stunning white, I think. If the whitesided rat was bred into the kings way back, I wonder why nobody is working on breeding the leucistic into them to produce a lucy Brooks? I think that will be pretty sweet.

I dont believe that is where the white side gene comes from. Whiteside ghost wont be very much different than ws anery. I think the truest white king will be a HI WHITE cal king...until the ws gene and this unicolor hypo are worked out.

Jeff, have you seen pics of Nocturnel Tom's ws hypo? not alot of color or pattern there. sometimes I wish I held onto the pair I hatched in '06. oh well.
i certainly hope that you do get that hypo paired up to a ws, those would be excellent offspring.
